Black Man Killed by Gang of White Teenagers

"He was such a compassionate person. We must take an honest look at the racial climate that motivated some young people to hurt such a wonderful person."


Mississippi is a state known for racism still being alive and active. White teens are known for harassing and bantering innocent black people. In particular, Jackson, Mississippi the white teens are known for looking to start trouble. On this particular day, June 26, seven white teens were setting out to harass a black man.They find James Anderson in the parking lot of Metro Inn. This group of white teens had drive in from adjacent Rankin County in a white SUV  and green pickup truck, descend on Anderson, beating him, walking back and for between him and their cars. From the surveilance camera, one can be seen pumping his fist in the airThe teens in the white SUV drive off, leaving Anderson on the ground. That's when Dedmon, a thin blonde driving the green pickup truck, allegedly accelerates toward Anderson.Anderson, who appears to be stumbling toward the street on the curb, disappears underneath Dedmon's car. Dedmon and his two teenage female passengers, who were not charged, then allegedly drove to a McDonalds to meet up with their friends."I ran that n****r over," Dedmon reportedly said in a phone conversation to the teens in the other car.Metro Inn general manager Val Patel told ABC News affiliate WAPT Dedmon, "rolled the window down and laughed and danced" and took off toward the interstate.








After reading about this tragic incident it really opened my eyes to the racism that still exists to this day. It's completely unfair that this innocent man had to be killed because of some racist white teenagers who have nothing better to do than banter innocent black people. The charges that have been brought upon some of the accused, I think are too mild. The seven that participated in the crime knew exactly what they were doing but sadly didn't seem to think it was wrong. Anderson's family has every right to sue the kids who killed their innocent loved one. Something should be done about this so that there can be a stop to it. It's been reported that white teens have beat up homeless black men and harass them for fun. None of the reports were ever taken seriously, but I believe since this tragedy that they have no other choice. James Anderson deserves to have justice served for the wronging of his murderers.
